Prof. Li-Guo Zou has been engaged in medical, teaching and scientific research for more than 40 years and has rich clinical experience in Chinese medicine. He became a doctor since 1968, following the famous TCM doctor Wang, Xianzhang as a teacher. From 1984 to 1989, he went to Beijing Guangming Chinese Medicine Correspondence University for four years. He has studied with many national famous experienced Chinese medicine practitioners, including Lu, Bingkui, a Chinese medicine expert, Fang, Yaozhong and Liu, Jingyuan, experts in the field of "Treatise on Febrile Diseases"; Liu, Duzhou, an expert of "Treatise on Febrile Disease" ; Jinyong Li, an expert  on "Synopsis of Prescriptions of the Golden Chamber"; Shide Cheng, an expert on  "Huangdi Neijing"; Yumin Xi, an expert on "Compendium of Materia Medica" ;  Guo Shude, a rheumatology rheumatologist and other clinical teaching teachers. He has  accumulated a profound theoretical foundation and clinical experience.

In 1992, he began to study Acupotomy medical technology with the inventor Zhu,Hanzhang. In 1994, he was invited by Zhu,Hanzhang to join him to create the Great Wall Hospital of China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Acupotomy Medical Training School of China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He had been several administrative positions in those institutes including member of the Expert Committee, Associate Professor of the Training School, and Deputy Secretary-General of the Acupotomy Branch of the Chinese Medicine Association. In 2004, together with Zhu Hanzhang, he founded the Acupotomy Professional Committee of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies. He was re-elected as the Deputy Secretary-General and Director of the Academic Department for two consecutive years, and has done a lot of work for the development of the Acupotomy medicine industry. Working with and studying with Zhu, Hanzhang for 14 years who is a good teacher and friend of him.

He is currently the deputy secretary-general of the Acupotomy Professional Committee of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies, the director of the China Association of Chinese Medicine Research, the vice chairman of the Acupotomy Professional Committee of the China Association of Chinese Medicine Research, and the deputy director of the Acupotomy Medical Committee of the Beijing Chinese Medicine Association, editorial board member of the "World Integrative Medicine" magazine.

Engaged in clinical work for more than 40 years, he has been committed to the integration of Chinese and Western medicine, paying great attention to clinical efficacy, and has a profound knowledge of TCM theory. He has accumulated rich clinical experience in difficult diseases such as internal and external Chinese medicine, gynecology and traditional Chinese medicine orthopedics, and has achieved remarkable results in the integration of Chinese and Western medicine.

Professor Zou has conducted in-depth research and clinical practice on Acupotomy medicine for more than 20 years. He has created a four-dimensional integrated Acupotomy therapy system. It uses acupuncture and medicine combined with traditional Chinese medicine and traditional Chinese medicine orthopedics to perfectly combine modern and advanced therapeutic instruments. He has rich clinical experience and achieved good clinical results in types of cervical spondylosis, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, lumbar disc herniation, lumbar spondylolisthesis, spinal stenosis, ankylosing spondylitis (humpback), scoliosis, various spine-related diseases, knee osteoarthrosis, rheumatism, Rheumatoid arthritis, various bone hyperplasia and various soft tissue injuries, Chinese medicine miscellaneous diseases and other difficult diseases. 

He has participated in the research work of national-level scientific research projects undertaken by the Great Wall Hospital of China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and has undertaken clinical teaching and guidance work. He has supported the clinical work of Acupotomy medicine in 13 provinces and 37 grassroots medical units nationwide in China. Teached a group of backbone technicians with acupuncture medical science and technology. He has written several papers and won awards at national and international academic conferences. He has served as the editor-in-chief and deputy editor of the Proceedings at the Domestic and International Academic Exchange Conference of Acupuncture Medicine. He participated in the relevant chapters of the closed surgery research section of Zhu, Hanzhang's book "The Principles of Acupotomy Medicine". In 2005, he was awarded the Science and Technology Achievement Award of the Ministry of Education, “The Research on the Originality of Acupotomy and Its Popularization and Application” (Second Completion). In 2006, he won the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award. The award-winning project was “Clinical Experimental Study of Acupuncture Treatment of Osteoarthritis”.

In 2005, Haikou Xingguo Acupotomy Medical Research Institute was founded in Hainan. In 2006, Haikou Chinese Medicine Neck and Shoulder and Leg Disease Clinic was established. In June 2016, the outpatient department was upgraded to Haikou Traditional Chinese Medicine Neck and Shoulder and Leg Hospital, and Prof. Zou served as hospital director and chief expert. In Hainan, in the past ten years, a large number of patients with neck, shoulder, waist and leg disease have been cured by him. The patients are from all provinces in China (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) and 13 countries and regions in the world. Among them are the ambassadors to China, the president of the International Chamber of Commerce and the country. He introduced the efficacy and achievements of Hainan Chinese medicine to  the foreign countries , and made contributions to the development and construction of Hainan International Tourism Island.
